Again with the updates.posted Jul 29th 2009, 8:56PM
Mood: Tired
Music: Spice - The Kreais
I've been pretty busy lately, so I apologize for not responding to many comments and journals. Rest assured, with the majority of my updates, if I didn't comment on it, I still took time to look at it, but I've had limited time to be on the computer, so I couldn't comment on everything. Well, that's beside the point. Onto news in my life.
Marching band for my new school recently began practice. I've already made some friends there, and some of them are experienced in guitar and drums, so I have some people to jam with. I also may be getting onto the school jazz band and pep band to play guitar, possibly even learn to play bass guitar. However, I've recently figured that trying to start a band at this point is not the best idea. I've been talking about starting a band for over seven months now, and have made little to no progress in getting it together. For now, I'm better off with just simple jam sessions. Besides that, I've also learned just how limited my skill is. I took a guitar lesson from my grandpa's brother yesterday, and the first question he asked me was "What do you know?" I realized that essentially, I know how to play some songs, but I really didn't know anything. I had only basic knowledge of scales, no knowledge of chords, and essentially no songwriting experience. Scott is willing to help me, though, since he's said that anytime that works for the two of us, we can schedule a day for him to give me a lesson. What makes this so great is that I'm learning from someone who has over 40 years of guitar playing experience. He plays for a group called The Kreais. You won't find their CD's in any stores, since they don't have any major record deals. Their albums are self-produced, but they have some amazing music. Scott gave me a CD of theirs to listen to, and apparently, he took a liking to me, because the disc he gave me was one of the original recordings that The Kreais made.
I think I've gone on about all that long enough. Lets see, what else. I went to my third rock concert a few days ago. I went to see RATT in concert. It was an amazing experience, great music, and we were right against the front limit, just a few feet to the left of the edge of the stage. However, not only was I there with my aunt and uncle, but with my cousins as well. They were 8, and 5 year old twins, all girls. What made things more embarrassing is that one of my cousins brought along her teddy bear. No, I don't mean she just brought it with her in the car, she brought it up to the concert. Not exactly "rock 'n' roll", is it? Regardless, an awesome night, and I even got a high-five from the drummer, Bobby Blotzer, as he passed by. The guy had sweaty hands. . . . . Moving on now. I still have two more shows to go to. Here in a couple of days, I will be going to see Alice Cooper and Blue Oyster Cult. I've been told it's more of a show than a rock concert, but that won't stop me. I'm fans of their music, and I'm going. The week after that show, I will be seeing Foreigner. My mom is a huge fan of theirs, and I enjoy their music as well. Lot of rock coming my way, huh?
I don't believe I have much else to talk about. If you've read all of this, I don't know whether to thank you for caring, or to apologize for taking so much time from you. Anyway, that's all I have to say.

Not a problem. I had planned on watching you quite a while ago, and I thought I had, but I couldn't honestly tell since the last thing I saw from you was that Goodbye journal. I had kinda figured you hadn't gotten back on yet. My bad.
